Not just a tent
Designed. Tested. Working.
This is a complete technological system, proven over several seasons in commercial operation and optimised for oyster mushrooms. It has one purpose: reliable production of large quantities of marketable oyster mushrooms.
Anyone who has grown oyster mushroom blocks with manual control will immediately see how well this can be automated. If the mushroom gets the right environment, it grows. The automation only needs fine-tuning, and the fruiting bodies need to be guided along the desired path.
It can still be developed further – we had ideas too, and I will pass them on to the buyer – but in our experience the most important thing is cost-efficiency. That is what we kept in mind.
“You don't have to work out how to do it right.
The how has already been worked out.”
Who it is for
Who will it pay off for – and how?
The system brings the most to someone who can put proven technology on top of what they already have.
Existing mushroom growers – to expand
454 m² of new growing area that does not need to be designed, experimented with and tuned. Heating, cooling and control are already proven.
Faster capacity expansion with lower risk.
Vegetable and greenhouse growers – extra income
With heating, the winter season can be used too – when the greenhouse is idle, mushrooms can produce. Your existing workforce and customers keep working.
Year-round income with the same team.
Family farms – next to the house
Filling and harvesting take work; in between only supervision is needed. Next to the house, if someone is at home anyway, it is very easy to control.
Ideally it needs attention twice a day.
New agricultural entrepreneurs – with capital
Infrastructure and know-how together: a technology description, proven solutions, and – in conversation – business experience: how and to whom we sold.
No need to build and figure it out from scratch.
It is for you if…
- you know what oyster mushroom growing is, or you are serious about starting,
- you can organise dismantling and transport,
- you are looking for a complete system, not parts.
It is not for you if…
- you are looking for a vegetable polytunnel or a poultry tent,
- you want a cheap frame – I will not sell below value,
- you expect turnkey training and a warranty.

- Thermometers, CO₂ meter, thermostat, refrigerator, large polystyrene boxes
Know-how that comes with the system
- Technology description (spawn run, cultivation) – PDF (Hungarian; English translation on request)
- Proven solution against mushroom flies and other flying insects
- Development ideas and the method for free multi-camera remote monitoring
- Business experience (in conversation): how and to whom we sold, in which business models
In practice
Work where it is needed – the system does the rest
Two stages of the growing cycle require physical work. In between, the machinery works and you supervise.
Filling
Placing the fresh substrate (bags/blocks) into the tents.
Spawn run and fruiting
The automation keeps temperature and humidity. I monitored the thermometers and the room remotely with old phones – for free. Ideally the fan control needs attention twice a day.
Harvest
Picking and selling the crop. I managed it from 10 km away – next to the house it is even easier.
A 10-year-old, used system – the outer film must be replaced on relocation. Even so, you get working technology for a fraction of the price. (Price in Hungary: 4 990 000 HUF.)
Why is it worth it?
You are not buying parts – you are buying a proven system
Anyone planning to build a mushroom tent wonders how to do it properly. Well, here it is – proven. Need a complex central controller? Here it is – proven.
The emphasis is not on the individual units but on the fact that this is a working system: it produced for years, and I can prove it with photos.
- Proven – several seasons of commercial operation, suitable for large volumes
- Automated – minimal labour requirement
- Well insulated – energy-efficient
- Top-class ventilation and misting – stable yield
- Know-how + infrastructure together – no need to build and figure it out from scratch
Important information
Clear terms, honest condition
It is not new, and nobody should expect it to be. That is why you can inspect it – a condition assessment is possible.
Sold as one lot
The arches can be cut above the concrete footings and simply set on “spikes” at the new site.
Transport by the buyer
The buyer organises dismantling and transport. Location: Csemő, Pest county, Hungary – near Cegléd, 75 km south-east of Budapest.
Not included
The growing substrate (bags/blocks – always to be bought fresh) and training; the written documentation covers the basics.
No warranty
That is why an inspection is strongly recommended – please arrange it with me by phone or e-mail first.
Condition, item by item
Outer film: to be replaced
After relocation it probably cannot go back on – it may still be good as repair film.
Inner film: good condition
It is protected from light; in my view it is in good condition.
Insulation: depends on dismantling
Not all of the rock wool can be saved – how much depends on how carefully it is dismantled.
Boiler: needs inspection
It has been standing for years. It must be taken apart and checked – if you want reliable winter heating, plan time and money for it.
Advice for dismantling: if the buyer comes in advance, prepares the job and plans transport accordingly, much more can be saved. Hurried dismantling against the clock of a rented truck, and careless cutting, cause a lot of loss later.
Buying from abroad
Worth the trip with a truck
Csemő is in central Hungary, next to the M4 motorway. Approximate road distances:
Within the EU
Romania, Slovakia, Croatia, Austria, Czechia: no customs – the goods move freely.
From outside the EU
For example Serbia: the buyer arranges export and customs clearance. I provide a sales contract and an itemised list.
Language
On the phone: Hungarian and English. By e-mail you can write in your own language – I will reply.
Price in euro
13 900 € for the complete system (4 990 000 HUF).
Frequently asked questions
Before you call
Can the tents be moved, or only used on site?
They can be moved; they are sold as one lot. The arches can be cut above the concrete footings and simply set on “spikes” at the new site. The buyer organises dismantling and transport.
Can I see it in person?
Yes, the system can be inspected in Csemő, Pest county, Hungary. There is no warranty, so I strongly recommend an inspection – call or write first and we will arrange a time.
What condition is it in?
A 10-year-old, used system that produced for years. The outer film must be replaced on relocation, the inner film is in good condition, as much of the insulation can be saved as the care of dismantling allows, and the boiler must be inspected. A condition assessment on site is possible.
How much work does growing take?
Filling and harvesting are physical work. The time in between is supervision only: the thermometers and the room can be watched remotely, even with old phones, and ideally the fan control needs attention twice a day.
Can it be used in winter?
Yes, there is heating installed for the winter season: a 40 kW boiler with a distribution pipe network, each heating line can be opened/closed. The boiler may need an overhaul.
Will I get help to get started?
Training is not included in the price, but you get the technology description (spawn run, cultivation), the proven insect solution, my development ideas, and in conversation the business experience: how and to whom we sold.
Is the price negotiable?
I will not sell below value. I am looking for a buyer who knows what this is and can pay for it.
Can I buy it from another country?
Yes. Within the EU the goods move without customs; from outside the EU (e.g. Serbia) the buyer handles export and customs, and I provide a sales contract and an itemised list. Transport is organised by the buyer.
Interested? Call me and we will arrange a viewing.
I am happy to explain the details on the phone (Hungarian or English) – then come and see it with your own eyes.
